Laser cleaning is a safe and eco-friendly way of removing undesired material from a solid surface. The energy produced by the laser will either turn the targeted material into a gas and evaporate or pressure of the interaction will simply cause the contaminant to break free from the surface. Laser cleaning works by sending short pulses of infra-red light to a targeted surface. The contamination on the surface absorbs the light and heats up very quickly but the surface remains cool. The difference in temperatures will cause the contaminate to turn into gas or cause the particles to break free from the surface. Any vapours or remaining residue is then simultaneously vacuumed away. The end result? A clean surface that looks brand new.
